So Long, Farewell
And so it is done…
Today, Liverpool FC announced the departure of head coach Arne Slot after two seasons in charge. While the decision will undoubtedly divide opinion among us, it is worth taking a moment to acknowledge what Slot achieved during his time at Anfield.
It couldn’t have been easy following Jürgen Klopp and that itself is an immense amount of pressure. Rather than shrinking from it, he guided Liverpool to a historic 20th league title in his very first season, adding another chapter to the club's storied history. Under whatever circumstances he achieved it, we have to give that respect.
The 2025-26 campaign has proven to be a difficult one with inconsistent performances, and a growing feeling that the club had not been achieving what it once did. It has been brutal watching our once champions fail time and time again…19 times to be exact.
Whatever your opinion on the decision, Arne Slot leaves Liverpool as a Premier League-winning manager and a man who handled some extraordinarily difficult moments with professionalism and dignity. For that alone, he deserves the respect and gratitude of the supporters.
The next chapter begins now. Who will take the reins…Iraola? Glassner? Enrique? It is not been announced yet, but until then, we simply say thank you, Arne.
You'll always be part of Liverpool's story.
